Our Vision, Mission, History & Future
To be Relevant, Trusted, Respected, and Financially Sound.
Consistently deliver A Better Way of Banking®.
In December of 1934, a group of 10 educators and administrators from Fort Worth came together to meet with the president of Dallas Teachers Credit Union. The group wanted to discuss forming a credit union of their own to better serve the needs of Fort Worth’s educators. Three months later, each of the 10 individuals contributed $5 and Fort Worth Teachers Credit Union opened a desk in the Fort Worth ISD administration building.
Now, looking back to its roots in Fort Worth’s educational community, EECU serves over 180,000 members across the Metroplex with the same goal—to meet members with the products and services they need. While EECU, derived from the former “Educational Employees Credit Union” name, reflects the original commitment of the credit union to educators in Fort Worth, our community charter now welcomes any individual who lives or works in the greater Fort Worth area.
EECU has always been member-owned and member-operated for the sole purpose of helping the people it serves reach their financial goals. As the credit union moves forward in growing and expanding its membership, this hallmark will continue to guide the development of its products and services in order to produce real worth for our community.
We are proud of our history and excited about our future. We are leveraging digital technologies and developing new products designed to make our Members’ lives simpler. And, we will continue to focus on delivering A Better Way of Banking® by providing personal service along with the financial value members expect from a trusted financial partner.
