EECU Employees Donate Nearly 1,000 Crayon Boxes to Cook Children’s
Date Published: October 31, 2024
Supporting Our Community, One Crayon at a Time
At EECU, we’re more than just a credit union—we’re part of a community that values connection, care, and giving back. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that last week, we donated 1,000 boxes of new crayons to Cook Children’s Health Care System, which serves children and families across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The Power of a Crayon
When Cook Children’s put out a request for crayon donations, our employees jumped at the opportunity to help. For the patients and siblings at Cook Children’s, something as simple as a crayon can provide comfort, distraction, and a sense of normalcy.
Adorah Okafo, an Experience Ambassador at Cook Children’s, shared, “We would be LOST without our crayon donations! Our patient families are relieved to have something to color to distract them and soothe anxiety. Everyone knows if we are out of crayons, we are in crisis mode! Many thanks to our wonderful crayon donors—we are so grateful. Please keep them coming.”
A Shared Mission of Care
EECU is dedicated to supporting initiatives that strengthen our community. It’s an honor to partner with organizations like Cook Children’s, who works tirelessly to improve the well-being of every child in their care.
Thank you, Cook Children’s, for all you do to serve children and families across Texas. We’re honored to play a small part in helping brighten the lives of these young patients and their families, one crayon at a time.
