Spend Smartly With Your HSA
Your HSA can be used to pay for your qualified medical expenses and those of your spouse & other tax dependents, even if the dependent is not covered under your health plan.
And, you have several ways to pay for qualified medical expenses.
HSA Debit Card
– use your EECU HSA Mastercard® debit card to pay healthcare providers at point-of-sale or by following the instructions provided on a bill from a medical provider.
You can designate an authorized signer and request a Debit Card for them at any time by calling (817) 882-0800. This provides more options to you and your family members to access Health Savings Account. Authorized signers must be 15 years or older.
Online Bill Pay
– sign up, at eecu.org, and use EECU’s free online banking and bill pay to make payments to medical providers directly from your HSA.
Online Transfers
– use EECU’s online banking or mobile app; reimburse yourself for out-of-pocket expenses by making a transfer from your HSA to your personal checking or savings account.
Remember to only spend your HSA funds on
qualified medical expenses
; otherwise, the purchase will be subject to taxes and an additional 20% tax penalty.
